Two new games
Letter pool arrives, a daily puzzle to solve with seven letters, and Word bluff, a game to play in a room with friends where you make up definitions. With them come two new themes, Aurora and Forest, and a few conveniences for leaderboards, tickets and stats.
The center letter goes in every word.
Letter pool
- Every day there are seven letters, the same for everyone. Find as many words as you can: each word has at least 4 letters, uses only the letters of the day (more than once if you like) and always contains the one in the center.
- A 4-letter word is worth 1 point, a longer one 1 point per letter. If it uses all seven letters it is a pangram and is worth 7 more points.
- Points take you up the ranks, from Beginner to Walking dictionary. The fifth, Linguist, is the goal rank: tap the rank bar to see how many points each rank asks today.
- A real word that is not one of the day's words gives no points: the game tells you so and does not count it.
- Shuffle changes the order of the letters, Try checks the word and Delete removes the last letter; hold Delete to clear the whole word.
- The game closes at the time shown on the page, in your local time. Once you reach the goal rank you can send your words to LexiMint.
- You can play past days too: «Start attempt» reveals the letters and the attempt enters that day's leaderboard.
- Every day has its own leaderboard, which counts points until the close.
Only one definition is real: the players invent the rest.
Word bluff
- You play in a room, from 3 people up. A rare word appears, everyone writes a believable definition and the game mixes them anonymously with the real one. There are two modes.
- Everyone bluffs: everyone votes for the definition they think is real. Finding the real one is worth 3 points and each person fooled by your invention is worth 2.
- One against all: one person per word eliminates the made-up definitions one at a time, and each one eliminated adds 1 to the pot. They can stop to bank it, but if they eliminate the real one they lose that word's pot.
- «I know this one»: if you already know the word, you can have it replaced, once per word and at most 2 times each in a match.
- Read aloud: the host reads the definitions while everyone votes, and the voting time can be chosen.
- At the end of each word the real definition is revealed with the «REAL» stamp, and the most chosen bluff gets the «Best bluff» stamp.
New themes
- Aurora and Forest, each light and dark: you find them in Settings, under Appearance.
Games and leaderboards
- In the games list, every game with a leaderboard has a trophy button next to the main button, to open it without entering the game.
- On leaderboards split by language, tap the language at the top to open the boards of the other languages.
- One of a clue: before starting, the host can pick «One turn each». The match gets as many words as there are players, so everyone takes a turn as the guesser.
Tickets and stats
- On the ticket page the large word uses the same typeface as the ticket image.
- The ticket has the same size for everyone and on every page, and fits entirely on the screen.
- The Share button also appears on other people's tickets.
- In the installed app you can save the ticket image: the phone's share menu opens, or the image to press and hold.
- In Stats, tapping a tier row opens the Gallery filtered by that kind of ticket and that tier.
Times
- Every time you read in the game is in your local time, including when the games of the day close.
Bug fixes
- Ten clues and Word climb: after clearing an answer or after a rejected answer, the empty tiles keep their size instead of shrinking.
- The suggested words to verify refresh when you go back to the page: you no longer see again the ones you have already verified.
